God Created You Unique. You are not just a complex mass of DNA or random cells. God created you as a unique being. He has created you physically and spiritually.
Genesis 1:26-28 26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
27 So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 Then God blessed them….
God created you like you are with your base personality and looks. Sometimes we wished we were different. We want to look different, have different abilities, think different, or just wished we were someone else. It makes sense when we see people who are more gifted than we are to want to be like them, yet, God created you to be you, with the looks, talent, thought process and personality you have.
Psalm 139 declares, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”
Regardless of what anybody told you, you are not a mistake. God purposely and specifically made you for a purpose.
Jeremiah records, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
While this passage is specifically for Jeremiah the principle holds true, God knew us before we were formed and has a plan for our lives. He created us for a purpose.
God also created your spirit. “The oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him:” Zechariah 12:1
That spirit God created in you longs to be in relationship with God. Psalm 84:2 “My very being longs for, even yearns, for the Lord’s courtyards. My heart and body will rejoice out loud to the living God”
Instead of running from our Creator, we can accept who He made us to be and begin to use it to bring God glory. You are wonderful. God thinks you are special and desires for your relationship to be complete.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for creating me the way I am. Now help me accept and embrace who you created, and live my life with the joy and satisfaction of your purpose. Recognizing you are the Creator and I am the created I accept my role and will do my best to fulfill your will as your reveal it to me. Come into my life and satisfy that inner longing that I have to be with you.
Questions for thought:
- What makes you unique or what gifts and traits do you have that make you special?
- In what ways can we take what God created and develop it for His glory?
- Since God has a plan for your life, how do you know what it is?

September 2, 2024 at 10:41 amI feel that as you go through life the things you go through are a way that satan uses to throw curve balls in God’s plans for us. How we live and react to our trials is a way we witness to people around us. Everyone is unique and has different things that they can offer, we should be proud of the gifts God gave us and use them to witness to people.

September 2, 2024 at 10:42 amThank you for this encouraging Word. We sat together and were able to talk through the three questions. It is so wonderful to take time to be in the Word as a family and we don’t often do that!
Thank you again! God bless you, Pastor.

September 2, 2024 at 10:06 pmI think it’s important for us to know what our abilities are as the Holy Spirit gifts us accordingly. Its up to us to be good stewards. We can rest in the knowing that God works everything out according to his purpose. Therefore the plans He has for us are also His purpose. Being exactly who we are is important. The enemy is continuously attacking identity. Our identity in Christ is so important-it’s foundational
